Harvest: Display Model Version

For several years I collected the hair that had fallen from my head and gathered on my floorboards, bedsheets and sweaters. I used what my body shed to crochet a lace, a veil, a net. Here, it is displayed pelt- like on a wall that is based on a country kitchen, a French Rococo damask and a department store cosmetics kiosk. The net appears spectral – powdered like an old wig, embellished with acrylic crystal bobbles smudged with bright red lipstick. It is mounted on a rusty rake which has been coated with liquid foundation cosmetics  (also tipped with lipstick) and pinned back with mid-century enameled curtain pin-backs.
